This cat grass is very easy to grow, and for me it always grows to full height in just a few days. My cat enjoys nibbling on this. So I'll keep having cat grass for her to eat.The only issue I encounter is that I have to transfer it to a heavier pot with more soil, because if I leave the grass in the plastic tub while she eats from it, it lifts up off the floor and moves. So it needs to be in a heavier container to stay in place.I’m going to write a somewhat in-depth review but the overall will be at the bottom if you want to read that instead.I bought this for my cat that has Pica.If you are unaware of what Pica is, it’s a condition cats have when they have anxiety from living with cats they don’t get along with or an uncomfortable environment.Pica is basically a diagnoses for cats that eat a lot of non-edible objects. I recently had to get my cat stomach surgery for eating a hair tie, carpet, string, fake plants, fake grass, human hair and part of an iPhone charger. All within a 5-6 hour period. After lots of research on Pica, I was informed that it would help lessen her need to eat non-edible objects by getting her plenty of toys, interactive feeders, scratching posts, her own cat tree and cat grass.Since my cat loves stringy things like carpet and hair, the cat grass is an amazing substitute for that impulse. Plus she loves how it tastes and it doesn’t cause harm to her system no matter how much she eats.As for the product itself I noticed a few things:1) It comes with TONS of seeds and you don’t need to use them all at once in the little soil cup that comes with it. In fact, I only used 1/4 of the amount of seeds and they pretty much all sprouted and lots of grass grew from it.2) The soil cup is small so if you want to use all the seeds and have a lot of grass, use your own pot. Or germinate the seeds in little soil pods and then plant them in soil in your own pot. Either way, it depends on your own needs.3) After the grass dies you can try to dig out the roots from the given soil cup but you won’t be left with a lot of soil. So it’s probably a good idea to use your own pots.4) The grass grows very quickly and very long. Remember the longer the grass the longer the roots and the more room it will need to grow strong and stay alive. The soil cup doesn’t allow for enough aeration in the roots which kills the grass fairly soon after it grows. If you use your own pots make sure the depth of the pot is twice as deep as you want the grass to grow long so it has plenty of room for the roots to grow and be fully aerated.5) Doesn’t need to be watered too often when using the given soil pot. If you use a bigger pot/your own, then watering will depend on the size of the pot. Water it when the grass is dry to the touch or soil turns a lighter brown color.Overall:- Gives you PLENTY (more than enough) seeds.- The soil cup given is too small for proper aeration and growth of the grass which causes the grass to die faster.- My cat loves the grass! She eats it instead of eating all the non-edible things she has eaten in the past.- The grass grows fast and most (like 98%) of the seeds sprout and grow. Plus it doesn’t need to be watered super often.- Great product for the price, but I recommend using your own pots to grow it.Happy growing! ?On the cats to eat. Dont sell in stores around hereBoth my cats love cat grass, and this one is in their top 3 for sure. It's super easy to grow ,you can presoak the seeds, and all those extra grow steps, but it's entirely unnecessary. The stuff is 100% going to grow into a beautiful snackable grass for your cat.I would suggest using the provided tray to get the grass started then transferring it to a deeper container. Grasses grow quickly and like to spread their roots deep, so the shallow tray will get root bound very quickly and the grass won't survive long if you don't.Never a good sign to pull something out of a delivery bag with dirt leaking out. It's like someone tossed in a handful of soil and threw the lid loosely over without wiping the edges first or really sealing it. Outer packaging held most of it in at least.Plan to update after following growing instructions. Will ask for refund if this batch is no good. It was cheap but I really didn't want to vacuum tonight... Good thing the vacuum filter came too, cleaning soil off a white rug (I wasn't expecting a mess from anything). think I'd have paid extra to not have to clean loose soil after workUpdate: it's growing. Instructions say not to feed until 4", still not there yet lol. The container provided is too small, it kinda overflows, it's hard to water but good enough. Since they'll eventually get eaten and die off I'm not buying a planter now.Last update: grown cat was confused why I was showing her something weird that isn't food or a toy, kitten liked it. Once to height it only lasted a couple of days before wilting down. Kept up with watering and sunlight but idk, weeks of waiting for less than a week of enjoyment? You have to hold it for them or pluck the grass yourself, otherwise cats gonna haul the container or chunks out across the floor. Also I'm not sure the seeds would be safe to eat or not?? I supervise and help him with it.I ordered two lots because I have 4 indoor cats (and one other who goes out occasionally) 1 lot grew well but the other hasn't. I can only imagine that I did something differently, maybe over or under watered, but I would still buy the product again, definitely recommend for those with indoor cats.My cat has access to the outdoors but I think he liked this, he would jump onto the kitchen counter to eat this and seemed quite happy. The grass only lasted for two or three weeks though.Excellent product. Very impressed. Good quality long grass and really easy to grow.Arrived really quickly with easy to follow instructions. Much better than planting seeds as this product is so greatGrew quickly, transferred it to another pot and it doubled in size. Cannot vouch for it myself but the cats seem to like it.Very good, my cat is sniffing around them
